If faculty support the AIM initiative, won't the bookstore lose money?

Answer

Campus bookstores are already facing many challenges since students look off-campus for cheaper books or simply do not purchase the textbook at all. Open textbooks can encourage more students to buy textbooks on campus. Print copies of open textbooks can be resold by the bookstore at a price that will encourage students to purchase them while also allowing the bookstore to recoup overhead costs.
