Q. What are the pedagogical benefits to students in AIM courses?
Faculty are able to make changes to course content to improve instruction if course materials are openly licensed to allow for revision/remixing/reuse. There is more flexibility to facilitate a variety of learning styles. When students can retain the content, they can actively highlight and create margin notes without "defacing" content that needs to be returned or sold back at the end of the semester. Furthermore, students have access to the materials immediately so there is no delay due to financial aid, bookstore shipments, etc.
